About GaSP
ALIA Government and Special Libraries Sector Committee
The Government and Special Libraries Sector Committee is available for all information profesionals working in a government or special library of any type.
This covers libraries in a large range of organisations including both Commonwealth and State government, law, corporate, arts, community research, and not for profit.
Aims and objectives
- Advocacy for the GaSP library sector and for high-quality information services
- Development and promotion of best practice delivery models

Kyleigh Langrick
Convenor
Kyleigh has worked in libraries of all kinds for over 20 years. In 2017, she won the Barrett Reid Scholarship to assess the use of design thinking in American public libraries. More recently, she obtained her Masters in Business Administration from RMIT University.

Rosanne Dunne
Committee Member
Rosanne Dunne is the Library and Information Services Coordinator for the John Fornachon Memorial Library, a research library for Australian Wine Research Institute staff as well as the wider Australian grape growing and winemaking industry. Rosanne has over 20 years’ experience across law, public, education and special libraries in South Australia.

Karen Collier
Secretary
Karen is the National Coordinator of Library and Research Services at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions and has over 30 years’ experience in government libraries. Prior to joining CDPP in 2016, Karen worked at the Lionel Murphy Library at AGD, which included managing and producing AGIS. She has also worked in other Attorney-General’s portfolio agency libraries including the Australian Institute of Criminology.

Rob Walter
Treasurer
Rob is a research librarian at the Department of Social Services. He has worked in libraries since 2007, including health, academic and special libraries.

Rachel Neumann
Committee Members
Rachel has worked in metropolitan and regional Victorian libraries for 30 years in academic, vocational education and now government, and is currently the Senior Manager, Victorian Government Library Service (VGLS). As part of the Department of Government Services, the VGLS provides research, information and collection services to support the work of the Victorian Government. She is passionate about quality library service provision, empowering others in their library careers, and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion with a particular interest on invisible disabilities in the workplace.

The ALIA GaSP Committee definition of a government or special library:
A government or special library is a library that provides specialised information resources on a particular subject, serves a specialised and limited clientele, and delivers specialised services to that clientele. Special library professionals manage information and/or knowledge resources for the organisations for whom they work, and their stakeholders; including business executives, government departments and agencies, association members, nonprofit funders and lawyers.
